Recovery Begins With Connection
Your gift today creates welcoming spaces where people living with mental health illnesses can connect, contribute, and thrive.
At Mental Health Connections, we believe each person with a mental illness can live a meaningful and productive life. We provide safe, non-judgmental spaces where people with mental health challenges can build relationships, feel valued and respected, and focus more on personal strengths than illness.
Last year, thanks to our incredible supporters, we:
- Welcomed 167 new members to our program across Contra Costa County.
- Shared over 15,000 meals and reached out over 8,000 times to adults who might otherwise be alone.
- Had members participate in over 36,000 hours of programming designed to build stability, confidence, and connection.
Behind each number is a face, a person whose life has been touched by the power of connection through shared meals, meaningful engagement, and supportive relationships. As more people seek connection and support, your gift today helps ensure our doors remain open to all who need them.
When Mary came to Connections House, she was navigating some recent challenges and looking for support. What she didn't know was after just a few days she'd record and post her first podcast episode of Mary's Road Stories. Thanks to services like the DeWalt Multimedia Lab, Mary found more than just a studio. "At Connections House, I found a place where I was welcomed," she shared. Supported by caring staff, a welcoming environment, and connection, Mary is already planning dozens more Road Stories. "I have plans. Before coming to Connections House, that isn't something I could say at all."
Your annual gift ensures members like Mary continue to have access to welcoming spaces, creative opportunities, and meaningful connection. Give today to provide support, community, and connection.
Helps fund 20 rides to doctor appointments, grocery stores, or MHC programs — often a member’s only safe means of transportation.
Supports home and hospital visits for isolated members — including a caring check-in, handmade gifts, and a reminder that they are not forgotten.
Helps provide over 100 meals for our members — when we break bread together, we foster connection and belonging.
Builds community across all our programs — supporting rides, meals, workshops, one-on-one support, and employment opportunities so everyone seeking support finds recovery that begins with connection.
